"So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity;

for God loves a cheerful giver."

(2 Corinthians 9:7)

 

Why do we give to the local church?

​

Throughout scripture, we are reminded of the importance of giving back to God a portion of what He has so generously provided to us (1 Chronicles 29:14).  His Word tells us that giving is an act of worship that should be done with a spirit of thanksgiving.

​

"Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine." (Proverbs 3:9-10)

​

When we understand giving starts with realizing what God has given us, as believers, we have a responsibility to manage ALL of our resources with faithfulness and generosity for the edification of the Kingdom.
